WHAT ABOUT THE HEALTH AND FITNESS INDUSTRY DO YOU FIND INTERESTING?:

The entire evolutionary process. Some of it is cyclical and you see a lot of “new” things that are actually rooted in older and sometimes ancient training systems. Some examples are the Gada (aka steel mace) and Indian clubs. There are so many different modalities out there. Not one is better than the other...you just have to discover what is best for you. Mix, match, and combine to evolve your own practice of fitness. If you need help, that’s why we are here.

WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN THE FITNESS INDUSTRY?:

I was heavier when I was young and wasn’t comfortable or confident so I made some healthy changes and in a few months lost about 20 pounds. In college I fell in love with resistance training and got certified as a personal trainer. As my career progressed I discovered all the health and psychological benefits of exercise. This isn’t just a job for me, helping people and finding the best ways to help people is my passion.

WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL MISSION STATEMENT?:

I use health and fitness to be a vehicle to help others do what they love. I love seeing the mental transformations people make when they empower themselves with exercise even more than the physical. When you have a clear head and a healthy body everything else is easier. This is my way to help people be the best versions of themselves.

I pride myself on listening with a non-judgmental ear and helping to devise a realistic & fun approach to reach my client’s goals.  I think life experiences have taught me that there will be times in life when different things take priority, but healthy living and self-care should always be close to the top of the list.

Having been in the Health & Wellness world for the past 20+ years, I know that there will always be more to learn, ways to grow & evolve in my approach to fitness and I remain humble and committed to being a lifelong student of it all!  As a former dancer & choreographer, I appreciate and understand the importance of good form, posture & technique and am well versed on how to coach and correct common mistakes.

When I teach and coach, I have a detailed oriented and hands-on approach (expect tactile cues). During a session, I am focused only on you. One of my top goals is to make sure that you are maintaining good form and are strengthening your mind/muscle connection. I'm creative and a critical thinker. I customize each session to the body that's in front of me so, your session is different from the person after you and different from session to session.

I seek to help everyone make wellness and fitness a routine part of their lives. I've seen how it's had a positive impact on me, my clients and so many other people.
